How could I build my own particle accelerator? And detector? What equipment would I need, and would I be able to discover new things, like the LHC does?

It is possible to build your own particle accelerator, but it's not possible to discover new physics with it. Think about it. If it was that easy, everybody would have built one and everything would be discovered already. No, everything that can be found with a small accelerator has already been found a long, long time ago.
Google "diy particle accelerator" or "diy particle collider" for more information on how to build one. However, without a thorough understanding of modern physics, I don't think it's going to be much use to you. It would also be very dangerous to use if you're as young as I'm guessing you are. They can produce dangerous radiation.

You need a 27 Km circumference tunnel, £6.19bn, a huge team of physicists and other specialists and you'd be able to discover new things just like the LHC.
Basically not the sort of thing you can make in your living room.

These are very costly machines and one man cannot build these,so better option is to join a research center which has these machines and Instruments to do research.

James, with a Q like that you sound too young to be on answers.
