is it possible to make the speed of sound faster, manually, like without studio & audio machines.

For example. if you were in a plane going faster than the speed of sound, and you were to have a 50 foot speaker on the front of the plane, and if you turned it on for 2 seconds, would the sound go faster than the speed of sound, because its being pushed faster?

just like if you throw a rock from a moving car and you're throwing it ahead, and the rock has a higher speed than the car for the 3 or 4 seconds until it loses speed

The speed of sound depends, among other things, on the density of the material. So sound travels much faster in water, and much much faster in iron.

Once emitted the sound travels at a fixed speed independent of the source speed. What varies is the pitch, due to the doppler effect. For an observer in front of you, the wave crests are closer to each other, giving a higher pitch. For an observer behind yyou, the wave crests are wider, giving a lower pitch.

_______

p.s. Sound waves have nothing to do with relativity which pertains to light waves. And you are right about throwing rocks with an initial speed. The previous answer is total bs.

No, your thinking is wrong, if you tried to throw a rock out a cars window, and the car is going say 100 mph, you would have to be physically able to throw faster than 100 mph, wouldn't happen. The same thing applies to jets that travel faster than a bullet is capable of traveling, these types of aircraft will not attempt to fire a bullet as a weapon until they are at a speed slower than the bullet is capable of. The only way to speed up sound is to pass it threw either steel, or water because it's a fact sound travels twice as fast threw water than it does in air, and four times faster through steel.

EDIT:::: Think of it this way, if the plane your on is traveling at 1200 feet per second, and your speaker in front of the plane is on and the sound that comes out is at 1100 feet per second, (that's the speed of sound) then the sound coming out of the speaker is actually slower than the plane. You wouldn't even hear it.

NOTE: Look down(V) is an idiot! I say this sadly, because if I'm wrong I'll admit it. But to call someones' answer total BS is just wrong. Especially from someone with alleged intelligence. (I'd love to have a battle of wits with him, but I never attack anyone who is unarmed.)

No. Read a book about "Theory of relativity".

It will explain why.
