Hey Chandu, isn't that from a serial movie? I seem to remember something like "return of Chandu" with that dracula guy.
I would have just said picking up a book from a table and then dropping it. The book acquired gravitational potential energy as it was raised upward and this became kinetic energy when you let go of it and it fell back to the table. Just as the potential energy increases as you lift the book so the kinetic energy increases as the book falls.
When the book hits the table all the potential energy it acquired will now be kinetic energy so you can set the two energies equal to each other.
mgh = (1/2)mv^2
2gh = v^2
v = SQRT(2gh)
h = height of book
g = acceleration of gravity = 32 ft/s^2 or 9.8 m/s^2
m = mass of book
v = speed of the book when it hits the table
So it is easy to calculate the speed with which the book will hit the table. All you need to know is the height to which the book was raised. This formula is good for anything for which you can ignore air resistance.

Potential Energy-Example:-Consider a coconut tree.You are standing right below it it..If the coconut is having Potential Energy,you are simply lucky.....
Kinetic Energy:-Oh dear...WATCH OUT!!!I Our coconut shell is having Kinetic Energy.
Got what I meant???Stored energy is the Potential energy and the other one is the kinetic energy....Easy to understand if you correlate it with day-to-day things

when u throw a ball up ,it stops there for a second then in this sec, it will have only pot. energy.
when u allow a ball to move in a slope then this motion posseses only kin energy!!

P.E depends on height
K.E depends on motion or movement

When you throw a ball upside, it acquires kinetic energy, when it reaches to its maximum height its all of the kinetic energy get converted into potential energy. When again it returns back towards earth, its potential energy get converted into kinetic energy..

Potential Energy (P.E.) :- A book kept at table, A compressed spring, etc.
Kinetic Energy (K.E.) :- A running vehicle, Walking man, etc.
P.E. + K.E. :- A flying bird, A flying Aeroplane, etc.

POTENTIAL ENERGY:The heavy heavy ball of a demolition machine is storing energy when it is held at an elevated position.Stretched bow & water stored in water tank also posses stored energy.
KINETIC ENEGRY:cat running, a woman doing aerobics, a frisbee that was thrown, an icicle falling to the ground in early spring, and a charged particle in an electric field.
A good example of kinetic and potential energy is a frog leaping. A frog sitting on a lily pad is an example of potential energy. The frog leaping is an example of kinetic energy.

potential energy is the energy at rest or deformed state eg
water in overhead tank,your monitor on the table,wound up watch string etc
kinetic energy is the energy possesed by a body in the state of motion eg
strong winds,moving vehicles,rain drops,rotating fan or washing machines etc
you can think of some more examples with the definition i gave.
