Im doing some physics homework and one of the question asks if something is a direct or inverse relationship. The topic is with acceleration and mass. I know that if the mass is twice as greater than the acceleration is half as big but i need to know if its direct or inverse relationship.

direct relationship both numbers will be getting larger.

inverse; one increases as one decreases.

Direct Relationship- As force( how much push or pull you apply to an object) increases, acceleration also increases.

Indirect/Inverse Relationship- As mass increases, Acceleration decreases.

Direct means that as one thing grows (shrinks, moves, etc) another thing does so based on a certain formula or ratio. An inverse relationship means that as one thing grows (etc.) another does the opposite (ie shrinks) at an equal proportion. If inflation increased and the price of gold decreased, it is inverse.

x has a direct relationship with y if, y = x * (some constant), which means as x grows, y grow.

x has an inverse relationship with y if y = (some constant) / x,

which means as x grows, y gets smaller.

direct:

if quantity A goes up then quantity B goes up.

indirect:

if quantity A goes up then quantity B goes down and vice-versa.

in this problem it probably means if Mass goes up it takes more force to accelerate an object because a=m/f is directly proportional.
