Question:
Would this superpower be running super fast or slowing down time?

My friends and I, who are superhero nerds got into a little debate.

My friend said that he'd love to be able to run at super speeds because then he would be able to take stuff from people without them knowing. I told him that wouldn't work and that the power he really wanted was to slow down time. He said I was wrong because when you run at super speeds everything around you moves slower. Which in my eyes...is slowing time.

Tried explaining that even if he could run super fast, you'd still have to stop in front of that person and take whatever out of their hands, they'd still see you there even if you could run away in a flash. But my friend keeps insisting that everything would appear to move slower around you when you run super fast.

He also somehow got everyone we asked to agree with him.

You should've said stop time instead of slow time because stopping time will let you be control of everything in your surrounding. Also, the superspeed has some disadvantage because if you get caught then you have to keep running and not stop, but if you stop time then you can just walk and take someones car or an airplane. Furthermore, the person who is experiencing the speed will not have slow surrounding, but it may appear that way. The super speed will only advantage him by going to certain places in a shorter time. You will be able to do that in no time if you can just stop the clock. Also, you should argue who would win in a fight the super speed or the time stopper, and then you'll see that he'll agree with you.

Hope this helped!

It depends on the speed at which you are running. If you ran fast enough time would appear to slow down for you; this would also mean that you have a form of super strength to be able to run that fast, as well as a brain fast enough to process the information. If you could slow down time by some other means than movement, it would be similar to running fast enough to have time appear to slow down; difference being you would just be you, and wouldnt have to run (walking fast has limits). Your reaction time would be the same, however with running super fast we can assume it is also increased.

I mean, dayum, he didn't even have to come to this ballin yahoo answers blagosite to ask questions unrelated to math and science, BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE YOU WANT A COMIC BOOK WRITER NOT THE SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS SECTION OF YAHOO ANSWERS, G.
