Based on the diagram below, rank the three objects from LEAST dense to MOST dense.

X is floating on the very top
Y is floating just under the surface
Z is on the bottom of the beaker

The percentage of an object that is above the surface is related to its density. An object with a density of .5 kg/m^3 will have have of its volume floating and the other half in water. If the density is above 1 kg/m^3. Than it will sink. Thus C is the correct answer. X is least dense because it is floating the most. Z is the most dense because it is sinking.
