And I can only use FOUR or LESS sheets of paper.
The height is app. 3.5 m.

Now, I got an idea of using one of my sheets of paper as a 'cone'... and then use the others as padding... but that didn't work when we did a test run.

I decided to make a 'parachute' but how are you supposed to make a parachute with paper?

Also, using 4 sheets of paper is just the minimum requirement. If you use 3 or 2 or 1... it's extra credit!
The record is a half sheet of paper. Can anyone explain to me how the hell CAN anyone use a half sheet of paper to protect an egg?

Here's my design. I think you need a little luck for the half-sheet, but one sheet is pretty easy to do.

Cut off the top third of the sheet of paper ("portrait" orientation). This will be used to make a "crumple zone." Roll this piece into a slightly conical cylinder so that one edge of the paper is just at the egg's "equator". It should be open on both ends, and the opening at the bottom should be about 3/4 the diameter of the opening at the top, which should snugly fit around the egg. Tape the entire free edge, not just one small piece. Place the egg in the cylinder with the "blunter" side pointing down.

The other 2/3s sheet will be used to make a parachute. Fold it in half once lengthwise, unfold it; fold it again width-wise and unfold. (The folds should divide the paper into four equal rectangles.) With the peak side up,attach 4 long (1½ feet) strips of tape to each corner, pointing away from the center. Be as precise as possible. Twist the tape several times, but be careful to keep about the last inch untwisted. (This twisting is to prevent the individual pieces of tape from sticking to each other as the chute opens.) Attach this untwisted portion to both the egg and the cylinder at four points around the egg's equator.

You now have both a parachute and a crumple zone. These together should keep the egg safe.

Here's a crappy little paint drawing of the completed project:

If the project is to drop an egg and have it land without breaking then try this. Make a parachute out of a bag and attach a basket to it using 4 bits of string (one at each corner of the bag). Wrap your egg up in newspaper or bubble wrap, put into the basket and drop. Hopefully the parachute will open and the egg will arrive safely on the ground. Your basket can be made from anything - a spray can lid, a plastic bottle with the top cut off etc. Have fun.
