Is it possible to go 'over the top' on a paternoster lift?

I know they go around in a loop - but is it possible to go over the top and round the bottom?

A friend used to scare nurses in a hospital that had one, by telling them that if they went over the top, they'd be turned upside down. Actually, you would not be; and yes, you can go round and round as long as you like. (If you've nothing better to do).

perfectly safe to do so.



The fun 'scare' used to be to do a handstand as you went over the top. be careful though as it is not a very safe thing to do in a paternoster lift.
